Berlin - Schulfarm Insel Scharfenberg
Schulfarm Insel Scharfenberg is a state boarding school with a a simply fantastic location in Berlin: on beautiful Island Scharfenberg in Lake Tegel. The Island is within the city limits of Berlin, a bit northwest of the the city center. The School farm has its own horses, so you can do horseback riding, canoeing and sailing are possible, too. As this school is a public school, it is significantly less pricey than the other boarding schools in Berlin, which are private schools.
But the entry requirements at this public school are demanding - very good German on level C1 and a minimum age of 16. If your German is lower than level C1, you can do a foundation course first and then switch to this school.

Host families live off the island, mostly in the Berlin district of Tegel. To get to the island is easy: there is a ferry going back and forth all day between the island and the rest of Berlin.
