Werder is an old and beautiful town on an island in the middle of River Havel(more).

Werder is famous all over Germany because it hosts a festival that some compare to "Oktoberfest" in Munich: the "Baumblüte".

"Baumblüte" literally means blossoming of the trees, and that is what the festival celebrates: the region is famous for fruit wines, and you´ll have lots of opportunities to sample those wines.
